COLUMBIA, S.C. — Conference play begins today.
The Allen University women's softball team will take the field at 4:00 PM at MLK Park as they open SIAC competition against Fort Valley State, marking a pivotal early-season opportunity to set the tone inside the conference.
Head Coach Quinton Blair understands what today represents. Non-conference games build rhythm. Conference games build positioning. And starting SIAC play at home presents the perfect chance for the Lady Yellow Jackets to establish identity early.
Allen enters conference action looking to build off individual performances that flashed promise in their season openers.
At the plate, Yazmyn Pryor provided spark at the top of the lineup, scoring a run and applying pressure offensively. Jeramyah Adams contributed both on the bases and defensively, while Destiny Breton added timely hitting and consistency in the infield.
Tylor Crawford showed her ability to drive the ball and contribute in clutch situations, and Kanitria Antenor delivered an RBI while remaining steady defensively in the outfield.
In the circle, Elissa Rich demonstrated resilience and competitiveness, handling a heavy workload and continuing to attack hitters inning after inning. Her toughness sets the tone for the pitching staff as Allen transitions into conference play.
Defensively, the Lady Yellow Jackets have shown flashes of clean fielding and aggressive base running — two areas that become critical in SIAC matchups where small details often determine outcomes.
For Coach Blair, the focus is simple: execute, compete, and protect home field.
Conference play is where identities are formed. It's where adjustments sharpen. It's where teams reveal who they truly are.
The Lady Yellow Jackets have the opportunity to start SIAC play the right way — at home, in front of their supporters, with momentum on their side.
First pitch is set for 4PM at MLK Park.
