ATLANTA, G.A. --- The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) announced Tuesday that for their first weekly honors of the 2025 softball season, Allen softball's Elissa Rich has been named SIAC Player of the Week. 

Rich, a sophomore utility player and pitcher, went a perfect 5-for-5 at the plate in Allen's first two games of the season against Claflin University. Included in her five base hits were a pair of home runs and a double that drove in three runs. 

The Anderson, South Carolina has already matched her freshman season total in home runs, and recorded the fifth and sixth multi-hit games of her career Friday. 

In addition to her offensive efforts, Rich also struck out seven Claflin batters in her 8.1 innings of action. Last season, Rich ranked third in the SIAC as a pitcher with 126 strikeouts in 128.2 innings pitched. 

Allen continues their non-conference slate of games with a trip to Bluffton, South Carolina for the University of South Carolina Beaufort Invitational. On Saturday, February 15, Allen will take on Shorter University (GA) and Southern Wesleyan University (SC), beginning at 9:00 a.m.
