LOUISVILLE, KY. — The Allen University men's track and field team delivered one of the most dominant championship performances in program history on Day 2 of the SIAC Indoor Championships, combining record-breaking marks, championship titles, and historic milestones to cap a landmark meet.
Headlining the day was superstar performer Jamarri Norman, who captured the conference title in the men's 60-meter hurdles (8.14) — a mark that shattered both the school record and the conference record, while also hitting the provisional qualifying mark for NCAA Division II Indoor Nationals. Norman added to his elite performance resume by placing:
- 2nd in High Jump (2.05m) — First Team All-Conference
- 5th in Triple Jump (14.50m) — Second Team All-Conference
Field standout Jhyrique Mangum continued his historic season, winning the men's shot put (15.53m) to claim First Team All-Conference honors while breaking both his own school record and conference record. His dominance earned him two of the meet's top honors:
- SIAC Indoor Field Athlete of the Year
- SIAC Track & Field Indoor Athlete of the Year (Sweet 16)
He becomes the first Allen men's athlete in program history to win the Field Athlete of the Year award.
In the hurdles, Jaheim Speller added points with a 6th-place finish (8.56), while the 4x400 relay team of Devin Singletary, Aijalon Jackson, Jabari Ponders, and Jabari Moss placed 8th (3:33.01) in a competitive field.
Another historic milestone came in the multi-events, where Jabari Ponders, Aijalon Jackson, and Jalen Jones became the first Allen men's athletes ever to compete in the heptathlon, each delivering strong performances and earning their place in the program record books.
Allen closed the meet 6th overall with 72 points, marking:
- Highest men's team score in school history
- Most medals in program history
- Most First-Team and combined All-Conference honors ever
When the championships concluded, one thing was clear — the Allen men didn't just compete with the conference's best… they proved they belong among them.
