COLUMBIA, S.C. --- A stellar freshman season concluded Saturday for
Jamarri Norman with a pair of silver medal winning performances to lead the Allen University men's track and field team at the 2025 SIAC Outdoor Championships. The three-day event was hosted by the University of South Carolina in Columbia, South Carolina.
Norman, a Calhoun Falls, South Carolina native, secured second place in both the long jump and high jump at the final meet of the season for the Yellow Jackets. In the long jump, Norman recorded a distance of 7.09m. Then in the high jump, Norman logged a height of 2.00m. These medals are the third and fourth of Norman's freshman season after he placed second in the same two events at the SIAC Indoor Championships on February 20, 2025. In addition to his performances in the long jump and high jump, Norman also came in ninth place in the javelin throw and 19th place in the 110 hurdles.
Joining Norman as a top 10 placer included
Jhyrique Mangum who finished sixth in the discus. The junior thrower threw for a distance of 41.82m.
Finally in the javelin throw,
Omariun Key set a personal record with a distance of 36.72m to finish in 10th place.
As a team, the Yellow Jackets finished in 12th place with 19 points.
