ELON, N.C. --- Jamarri Norman continued his stellar freshman campaign Friday at the Phoenix Invitational with a pair of top five finishes to lead the Allen University men's track and field team's performances.
In his first time running the 110 hurdles, Norman placed fifth overall with a time of 15.51. Later in the long jump, Norman came in second place after jumping a distance of 6.78m. In all seven meets this season, Norman has finished inside the top five of the long jump at each time.
A second Yellow Jacket performed well in the 110 hurdles as Alijah Maddox finished eighth with a time of 16.11. It marks the second fastest time for Maddox in his career, behind only his 15.59 performance at the John-Hunter James Classic on March 8 earlier this season.Â
To close out Allen's top 10 finishes, Zion Smart finished in seventh in the 400 hurdles with a time of 59.76, the second fastest time of the season for the sophomore
Allen is back at the track on Friday, April 4 at the Patriots Invitational. The event will be held in Florence, South Carolina and hosted by Francis Marion University.Â
