COLUMBIA, S.C. --- To begin their 2025 outdoor season, the Allen University men's track and field team saw four Yellow Jackets record top 3 finishes in various events at the John-Hunter James Classic in Columbia, South Carolina. The two-day event was hosted by Columbia International University.
Jamarri Norman won the long jump with a distance of 7.07m to record the third first place finish in the event of his freshman campaign. In the 110 hurdles,
Alijah Maddox ran a personal best time of 15.59 to finish second. Then in the 400 hurdles,
Zion Smart ran a personal best of his own by clocking a time of 58.33 to also place second. Finally in the shot put,
Jhyrique Mangum threw for a distance of 14.01m to finish third overall.
The Yellow Jackets next meet will be the Phoenix Invitational on Friday, March 14. The event will be hosted by Elon University in Elon, North Carolina.
