LOUISVILLE, K.Y. --- Jhyrique Mangum placed first in the shot put and second in the weight throw, followed by Jamarri Norman finishing second in both the long jump and high jump, to highlight the performances of the Allen University men's track and field team at the inaugural SIAC Indoor Championships. The two-day event was hosted at Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Center on February 20 and 21 in Louisville, Kentucky. 

Mangum, a junior from Swansea, South Carolina, earned his first SIAC medal after setting a new personal record in the shot put with a distance of 15.27m. Mangum's performance in the event also ranks him inside the top 100 among NCAA Division II competitors this season. He also finished in second place in the weight throw with a new personal record of 14.36m to claim his second medal of the meet. 

Norman continued his stellar freshman season by winning two medals at his first SIAC sponsored meet. After jumped a height of 2.00m in the high jump to place second overall, Norman leapt a distance of 7.19m in the long jump. The Calhoun Falls, South Carolina native's distance in the long jump is the 46th best mark in NCAA Division II this season. 

In addition to their medal winners, the Yellow Jackets set a total of 13 new personal records at their final indoor meet of the season. In the 60m hurdles preliminaries, Alijah Maddox and Norman each finished in the top six with new personal best times. In the 60m hurdles finals, Jabari Moss finished in fourth with a time of 8.50. In the 60m preliminaries, Daniel Fullwood ran a time of 7.38, then in the 200m preliminaries, both Zion Smart and Coby Bradley set new personal records. Later in the 400m, freshman Ronderius Gray and Zion Smart finished inside the top 25 runners with new personal records. The new personal records in the field events included Omariun Key in the long jump, Rashard Robinson in the high jump, and Norman in the triple jump. 

The Yellow Jackets will begin their outdoor meet schedule on Friday, February 7 at the John-Hunter James Classic, a two-day event, on the campus of Columbia International University in Columbia, South Carolina.
