CHARLOTTE, N.C. --- The Allen University women's track and field team turned in a series of strong performances at the JCSU Collegiate Invitational on April 3, highlighted by record-setting marks and podium finishes on both the track and in the field.
Keturah Walker led the way for the Yellow Jackets with a standout performance in the women's 100 meters, placing third with a time of 12.16 seconds. The time is a new career-best for Walker, and in the four events this outdoor season, Walker has placed among the top three finishers on three occasions.
Jamea Lindley also delivered a notable performance on the track, finishing sixth in the 400 meters with a time of 59.29. Taylor Jordan added depth in the 100 meters, crossing the line in sixth place with a time of 12.27, giving Allen two top-six finishers in the event.
In the field events, Kiara Moss secured a runner-up finish in the shot put with a mark of 12.06 meters, continuing a strong trend for the Yellow Jackets' throwing group. Kierra Gordon also earned a podium finish, placing third in the high jump with a clearance of 1.52 meters.
The Yellow Jackets will be back in action Friday, April 10 in Florence, South Carolina at the FMU Invitational, hosted by Francis Marion University.
