COLUMBIA, S.C. ---
Measha Jones secured the third SIAC individual championship of her career Saturday after taking the top spot in the long jump to highlight the performances of the Allen women's track and field team at the 2025 SIAC Outdoor Championships. The three-day event was hosted by the University of South Carolina in Columbia, South Carolina.
Her victory Saturday marks the second consecutive season that Jones, a senior from Manning, South Carolina, has won the long jump at the SIAC Outdoor Championships. Jones became the first Allen student-athlete, regardless of sport, to win an SIAC championship when she won gold at the 2024 Outdoor Championships. In addition to her distance of 5.70m in the long jump, Jones also placed 7th in the javelin throw and 16th in the 200m.
Deborah Boyd closed out her junior season with a pair of top eight finishes. In the 5,000m, Boyd logged a time of 23:16.44 to place seventh, and then in the 10,000m, Boyd clocked a time of 46:33.77 to finish in fifth.
