September 4, 2025 – Columbia, SC
In the national spotlight following a standout performance in Allen University's season opener, junior quarterback Jamir Dismukes has earned a spot in the Top 3 of the 2025 Quarter Phi Back HBCU Quarterbacks National Watchlist, becoming the only SIAC quarterback to crack the top five after Week One.
Dismukes, who was also named a Preseason All-SIAC selection and is on the radar for the prestigious BIP Memorial Trophy, made his case early with a composed, efficient, and explosive showing against NCAA Division I Morehead State. The Yellow Jackets narrowly fell 38–31, but Dismukes' poise under pressure left a lasting impression.
Elite Week One Numbers
In front of nearly 6,000 fans at Jayne Stadium, Dismukes completed 25 of 37 passes for 301 yards, throwing two touchdowns with no interceptions. He added 32 yards on the ground over 18 carries, demonstrating dual-threat capability and high-level command of the offense.
His performance was one of the cleanest and most productive among HBCU quarterbacks nationally—prompting Quarter Phi Back, the only national award body dedicated to honoring Black quarterbacks at the collegiate and high school levels, to rank him third overall in their Week Two Watchlist.
A Signal-Caller on the Rise
Dismukes is joined on the watchlist by elite quarterbacks from powerhouse HBCU programs including Virginia State, Alabama State, Prairie View A&M, and Morehouse College. His early-season ranking reinforces what many inside the Allen program have long believed: Dismukes is a next-level talent with the mindset and tools to match.
As the Yellow Jackets prepare for their home opener this Saturday, September 6, against Livingstone College, Dismukes returns to Westwood Field not just as a team captain—but as one of the most-watched quarterbacks in Black college football.
Kickoff is set for 6:00 PM ET, and the game will be streamed live. Fans can visit www.auyellowjackets.com for scheduling and ticket information.
