COLUMBIA, S.C. – Allen University Football officially launched its 2026 preseason campaign with its own Media Day, bringing together student-athletes, coaches, alumni, and media partners to showcase the program's vision, culture, and readiness for the upcoming season. The event, held on campus, served as a key opportunity for the Yellow Jackets to share their goals, introduce key players, and connect with the broader Allen community ahead of the start of fall practice.
Head Coach Cedric Pearl, along with select student-athletes, addressed local and regional media, highlighting the program's continued growth, strong team chemistry, and commitment to competing at the highest level of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC). The Yellow Jackets are coming off a 6–5 campaign and are focused on building on that momentum as they enter Coach Pearl's second season leading the program.
The event drew coverage from two prominent local news outlets, WLTX News 19 (CBS Columbia) and WIS News 10 (NBC Columbia), both of which conducted interviews with Coach Pearl and key players. The coverage underscored the growing visibility of Allen University Football and the increasing interest in the Yellow Jackets' resurgence under Pearl's leadership.
Allen University Football also welcomed several program alumni to Media Day, reinforcing the strong bond between current student-athletes and former Yellow Jackets. The presence of alumni highlighted the program's emphasis on legacy, mentorship, and the lifelong connection that comes with being part of Allen Football. Their participation served as an inspiration to the current roster, demonstrating the lasting impact of the program and the opportunities that extend beyond the field.
With the 2026 season opener against Livingstone College on August 29 approaching, the Yellow Jackets are focused on executing their game plan, maintaining discipline, and playing with the intensity and unity that define their identity. Media Day provided a platform to share that message with fans, media, and the Allen community, setting the tone for a season filled with high expectations.
