COLUMBIA, S.C. --- In their third meet of the indoor season, the Allen University women's track and field team saw four Yellow Jackets set new personal records at Friday's Carolina Challenge, hosted by the University of South Carolina.
Among a field of NCAA Division I, Division II, and Division II teams, Allen's top placer was Ja'Braisha Lane in the 800m. The freshman recorded the fastest time of her collegiate career at 2:37.15 to finish in tenth, and was joined in the top-16 by
Deborah Boyd's season best time of 2:47.86. Later in the 200m,
Keturah Walker continued her strong season with an 11th place finish at a time of 26.55, followed by
Amira Belk in 13th with a season best time of 26.85. In the 400m,
Myiah Upshaw logged her fastest time to date at 1:10.39. Additionally,
Caseyona Hight set a new personal record time in the 60m Hurdles at 10.02.
In the field events,
Measha Jones cleared a height of 1.43 in the high jump for a new personal record.
Allen's next meet will be a two-day event held in Winston-Salem, North Carolina on February 7-8.
