COLUMBIA, S.C. — Inside John Hurst Adams Gymnasium, the Allen University Lady Yellow Jackets delivered one of their most electrifying performances of the season, stunning SIAC contender Savannah State in a 3–1 comeback victory (20-25, 25-16, 25-23, 26-24) in front of a loud home crowd that fueled every serve, dig, and kill.
Savannah State entered the matchup riding high with a 14-6 overall record and a dominant 10-4 mark in conference play. But the Yellow Jackets were unfazed, feeding off the energy in the Hive and executing at a high level in nearly every statistical category.
SET 1: Slow Start, Fast Adjustment
The Tigers pounced early, taking the first set 25-20 behind strong offensive efficiency (.226) and forcing Allen into early errors. Allen didn't flinch—instead, they answered with the grit that's become their calling card.
SET 2: Buzzing Back
Allen erupted in Set 2 with a dominant 25-16 performance that saw the team tighten up defensively and attack aggressively. Naveah Baker, who anchored the back row with 13 digs, also energized the run with 4 aces, helping Allen turn the tide.
Middle blockers Saige Bradley (9 kills, 3 blocks) and Amaya Bernardo (13 kills, 3 aces, 1 block) provided consistent interior presence, while senior standout Maliyah Spencer added another clutch performance with 13 kills of her own.
SET 3: Chess Match in Motion
The third set was a tightly contested back-and-forth battle. With both squads trading points, Allen's composure proved critical down the stretch. With Zyara Harrision (21 assists) and Alivia Pettit (18 assists) quarterbacking the offense, the Yellow Jackets found their rhythm, edging the Tigers 25-23 in the set to take control of the match.
SET 4: Statement Finish
In what felt like a playoff atmosphere, Set 4 became a test of will. Savannah State clawed back late in an attempt to win the set, but a pair of clinical plays from Allen sealed the deal with a 26-24 finish — erupting the home crowd as the Yellow Jackets celebrated a signature win.
Stat Leaders
Not only did Allen out-serve Savannah with an eye-popping 18–6 advantage in aces, but they also showcased a balanced attack and relentless effort defensively.

With this win, Allen moves to 13–12 overall and 8–8 in conference play—solidifying themselves as a dangerous opponent heading into the final stretch and postseason play.
