Charlotte, NC - The Allen University women's volleyball team continued its winning ways Tuesday night, delivering a convincing 3–0 sweep over Johnson & Wales (25–16, 25–15, 28–26) on the road. The win marked the Lady Yellow Jackets' 11th of the season.
Offensive Efficiency on Full Display
Senior outside hitter Maliyah Spencer led the charge with 8 kills, while Amaya Bernardo and Saige Bradley added 7 apiece in a balanced offensive attack. Bradley was especially efficient, hitting a blistering .462 on the night with 7 kills on just 13 attempts.
Allen's offense wasn't just about finishing — it was also about execution. Senior setter Zyara Harrison orchestrated the offense with precision, dishing out 18 assists, while Tamia Horton added 5 of her own. Harrison also tallied 6 digs, contributing on both ends.
Dominance at the Service Line
Allen took control of momentum early and often thanks to a relentless presence behind the service line. Freshman Madison Mack was electric, registering a game-high 7 aces. Bradley and Baker chipped in 2 and 1 aces respectively, putting constant pressure on the Wildcats' back line.
Defense: The Deciding Factor
On the defensive side, the Yellow Jackets showcased the grit that has become their identity. Naveah Baker led all players with 11 digs, while Harrison and Mack added 6 and 5 respectively. At the net, Janaye Sweat and Bradley each recorded 3 blocks, with Bernardo adding another — disrupting Johnson & Wales' rhythm throughout the match.
Allen finished with 6 total blocks, 12 aces, and 27 total digs, a testament to their all-around effort.
Closing with Confidence
While Allen rolled through the first two sets with ease, Johnson & Wales put up a fight in the third. Trailing late, the Lady Yellow Jackets showed poise under pressure, edging out a tightly contested 28–26 set to seal the sweep.
Head Coach Danielle Robinson continues to have her squad trending upward as the Yellow Jackets head toward the latter half of the season with growing momentum and chemistry.
