COLUMBIA, S.C. --- In their second season as a program, the Allen University women's wrestling team continued their strong sophomore campaign Saturday with a 25-20 win against Bluefield State.
In a highly competitive battle, the Yellow Jackets and Big Blue split the first four matches of the day, with
Ja'Braisha Lane and
Stacy Pule emerging victorious for Allen. Tied at 10-10,
Lyric Drumgoole gave the Yellow Jackets the winning edge in the 138-weight class with a pinfall win over BSU's Saleh Ibtasam in 2:19. The win is Drumgoole's fourth of the season, and her third by fall. To close out the match,
JahMya Hill and
Rakiyah Young each earned victories with Hill's coming via injury default and Young's via forfeit.
With the result, Allen earns their fifth win of the season, and their second in Conference Carolinas action.
The Yellow Jackets make their final road trip of the regular season on Wednesday, January 29 to take on Newberry College in Newberry, South Carolina. The match is scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m.
