ATLANTA, G.A. --- In the three-day SIAC Championship track meet held in Atlanta, Georgia, Measha Jones led the way for Allen women's track and field with her gold medal first-place finish in the long jump. 

Jones, a junior from Manning, S.C., closed out her 2023-24 season with three-straight victories in the long jump, after placing first in the Yellow Jackets' previous two meets at Johnson C. Smith University and South Carolina State University. At the SIAC Championships, she recorded a distance of 5.79m to take the top spot. In one year's time, Jones improved her distance at the event from 5.17m to 5.79m after placing fifth last season. Also, Jones placed fourth in the javelin throw at a distance of 32.54m.

Autumn Clifton joined Jones with a top-five finish of her own in the 800m, clocking a time of 2:33.07 to finish in fifth place. Later in the 400m Hurdles, Caseyona Hight finished in fourth place at a time of 1:06.41. 

Allen concluded their 2023-24 season with double-digit podium finishes throughout their 11 meets under fifth-year head coach Ieisha Bodrick.
