ORANGEBURG, S.C. --- For the second straight meet, junior
Measha Jones claimed the top spot in the long jump event as Allen Women's Track and Field competed in Saturday's "Sharonda Coleman-Singleton Classic" held on the campus of South Carolina State University.
Jones, a Manning, S.C. native, recorded a distance of 5.67m to secure her victory.
Siata Ouattara also joined Jones with a podium finish, placing second in the 10,000m with a time of 54:47.31.
Other top-10 finishes for the Yellow Jackets included
Autumn Clifton placing sixth in the 400m,
Deborah Boyd finishing 10th in the 1500m,
Caseyona Hight placing seventh in the 100 Hurdles, and Jones, once again, with a sixth place finish in the javelin. The team of Ty'kira Garrett,
Keturah Walker,
Amira Belk & Jones finished fifth overall in the 4x100 relay with a time of 48.20.
With their regular season concluded, the Yellow Jackets step into the postseason with the 2024 Cricket SIAC Men's and Women's Track and Field Championship, held on the campus of Morehouse College in Atlanta, G.A. from Thursday, April 25 through Saturday, April 27.
