ATLANTA, GA – The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) announced the Volleyball Players of the Week for Week 4 on Tuesday, September 26 with Allen's freshman libero Myra Lopez being named Defensive Player of the Week.

Lopez played a pivotal role in propelling Allen to a remarkable 3-2 weekend performance at the highly competitive SIAC Crossover tournament. Her standout moment came during a thrilling 5-set victory over Miles on Saturday where she etched her name into the school's history books by setting a new record with an astounding 43 digs.
Throughout the tournament, Lopez showcased her defensive skills, accumulating a total of 92 digs across five matches. Additionally, her all-around contribution to the team included 18 assists and 10 service aces helping Allen improve to 8-6 on the season and 3-6 in the conference.

The Lady Yellow Jackets will next return to action when they head across the street to face Benedict College on Thursday evening at 6 pm.
