Lynchburg, VA - The Allen University women's track and field team competed at the Liberty University Open at the Liberty-Indoor Track Complex in Lynchburg, VA this past Saturday.
Results
In the women's sprinting events, sophomore
Shakeryah Passmore led the way placing 12th in 8.16 seconds in the
60 meter dash while sophomore
Aisha Patterson came in right behind in 19th in 8.34 seconds. Freshman
Kiana Pack also competed placing 34th out of 50 in 8.7 seconds.
Sophomore
Teleah Moorer then led the way in the
200 meters placing 26th (2nd in her heat) out of 65 sprinters in 27.2 seconds while freshman
Reyonce Black came in right behind in 29th place at 27.7 seconds. Patterson would finish immediately behind Black in 27.72 seconds while Passmore was then 35th in 27.83. Fellow Freshman
Jasmine Mayes also came in 45th in a time of 28.9 seconds to wrap up the finishers for the Lady Yellow Jackets.
In the
400 meters, Allen was led by
Kiana Pack placing 28th in 1:10 while fellow freshman
Mikiya Sherman finished immediately behind Pack in 1:11. Sophomore
Ayani Taylor was also right behind in 31st in 1:11.6 while Mayes was 35th in 1:13.
Measha Jones also led the charge in the 800 meters placing 52nd in 2:52.
Moorer, pictured above, then ran a terrific time in the 60 meter Hurdle Finals placing 4th overall in 9.47 seconds while she also posted the top team in the Prelims at 9.18 seconds besting 28 other sprinters.
In the Field events, Allen was led by freshman
Kourtney English in the
High Jump as she placed 16th with a mark of 1.4 meters (4.7 feet). In the Long Jump, Allen was led by
Reyonce Black placing 11th out of 40 (2nd in her heat) with a mark of 5 meters (16.4 feet) while Jones finished 16th with a mark of 4.9 meters. Sherman was also 20th in 4.75 meters.
In the Shot Put, Allen was led by junior
LaRhonda Johnson who placed 21st with a mark of 8.13 meters (26 feet) while sophomore teammate
Jermisha Moss was 22nd with a mark of 7.81 meters (25 feet).
The women will next finish out their indoor season on Feb. 17 at the USC Indoor Open.
