COLUMBIA, S.C. - The Allen University women's cross country team headed to nearby Columbia College on Saturday morning to compete in the Akiah McMillan Invitational (formerly the Koala XC Classic).
The women came away with a 16th place finish just behind Coker and Claflin. AU was led by freshman
Deborah Boyd who placed 72nd overall out of 115 runners in the meet with a time of 30:19 in the 6K.
Finishing 2nd for the Jackets was freshman
Myiah Upshaw coming in 94th overall with a time of 35:19 while fellow freshman
Siata Ouattara came in 97th in 35:49. She was followed by freshman
Caseyona Hight in 99th with a time of 36:15 while freshman
Kiara Wilson and sophomore
Measha Jones finished back to back in times of 38:34 and 39:27. Wilson was the last to score for Allen in 106th place.
Finally, also competing as individuals were freshmen
Maya Jackson and
Nykia Fort finishing directly behind each other in 40:16 and 40:18.
The Lady Yellow Jackets will next be in action on Friday when they head to Charlotte to compete in the Queen City 5K Invite hosted by Queens University.
