Columbia, SC - The Allen University women's indoor track and field team competed at the University of South Carolina Challenge on Friday at USC's Indoor Track & Field Complex.
Freshman sprinter
Kiana Pack got things started for the Ladies as she placed third in her heat in the 60 meter dash running a time of 8.6 seconds but it was not enough to qualify for the next round.
Sophomore sprinter
Sha'kerya Passmore then led Allen in the 200 meters placing 68th overall in 27.8 seconds and running 2nd in her heat of D-2 athletes. Sophomore Teammate
Aisha Patterson also ran a time of 27.9 seconds in the 200 meters.
In the 400 meters, freshman
Measha Jones led the Jackets placing 38th out of 62 (2nd in heat) with a time of 1:02 while freshman
Jasmine Mayes ran a time of 1:12. Sophomore
Ayani Taylor ran a time of 3:04 in the 800 meters as well.
In the field events, freshman
Mikiya Sherman led Allen with a mark of 4.4 meters in the Long Jump to place 30th overall while junior
Jermisha Moss threw a mark of 9.6 meters in the women's Shot Put to place 22nd out of 30.
The women next return to the track on Saturday, Feb. 4 at Liberty University in Virginia.
