ATLANTA, Ga. (September 13, 2022) – Freshman libero Jayla Neely (Allen) was named Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Jayla Neely, Allen
Libero/Defensive Specialist,  Freshman,  Rock Hill, S.C.
 
Neely led the Allen University volleyball team to three wins on the week as she totaled 30 digs including 20 in the win over Clark Atlanta. She also tallied 10 more digs in the win over Livingstone on Sunday.

Neely continues to lead the team with 61 digs on the season along with averaging 4.36 digs/set. She also has 6 assists and 8 aces on the year as well.

She will next lead the Yellow Jackets into a home rematch with Livingstone College Tuesday night at 6:30 PM.
