Program milestone performance headlines statement showing for Lady Yellow Jackets on Day 2

WWreslting Match Recap: 2/22/2026 | By Phil Jackson, Allen University Director of Sports Information and Communications

FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. — The Allen University women's wrestling program reached a historic milestone on Day 2 of the 2026 NCAA Women's Wrestling Regional #3, as one performance didn't just win matches — it changed the trajectory of an entire program.

At 131 pounds, Isis Severe etched her name into Allen athletics history, becoming the first NCAA National Qualifier in program and school history. The achievement marks a defining breakthrough moment for a rapidly rising Lady Yellow Jackets squad that continues to prove it belongs on the national stage.

Severe's path to qualification showcased the same traits that have defined Allen wrestling all season: composure, discipline, and relentless execution. Her performance not only secured her national berth but also earned her Conference Carolinas Second Team All-Conference honors, another first for the program. With the milestone secured, she now advances to compete March 6–7 in Coralville, Iowa, where she will wrestle for a chance to become both a national champion and All-American.

The accomplishment reflects more than individual success — it signals program evolution. In only a short time, Allen women's wrestling has transitioned from newcomer to contender, producing podium finishes, record-setting performances, and now a national qualifier.
