FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. — The Allen University women's wrestling squad stepped onto the regional stage Friday with toughness and determination, grinding through a loaded field at the 2026 NCAA Women's Wrestling Regional #3 hosted at Emmanuel College. Despite facing nationally experienced opponents, the Yellow Jackets proved they belonged, delivering a day defined by resilience, bounce-back performances, and championship-level effort.

Kitty Sharpe opened competition at 110 pounds, battling through a challenging bracket against elite competition. At 124 pounds, Rihanna Loomis showed heart, rebounding after an early setback to dominate a consolation bout with a lightning-fast technical fall victory, demonstrating the team's never-fold mentality.

At 138 pounds, Alissa Brown Washington delivered one of the most impressive responses of the day. After a tough opening match, she stormed back in commanding fashion, securing a technical fall win to keep her tournament run alive and electrify the Allen corner.

The 145-pound bracket saw Nevaeh Smith face one of the toughest paths of the tournament, competing multiple times in a stacked weight class. She answered the challenge with a strong fall victory, showcasing grit and finishing ability that highlighted Allen's fighting spirit.

At 160 pounds, Nichya Pemberton battled hard against a tough opponent, while Morgan Thomas at 180 pounds showed toughness and composure against a powerful bracket contender, gaining valuable postseason experience that will fuel future growth.

Throughout Day 1, the Yellow Jackets displayed relentless effort, composure under pressure, and flashes of dominance that signal a program on the rise. With several wrestlers still alive in consolation rounds and momentum building, Allen heads into Day 2 poised to continue making noise on the regional stage.

Day 1 proved one thing loud and clear — Allen University wrestling doesn't back down from anyone, and the Yellow Jackets are just getting started.
