Yellow Jackets Bring Nation’s #1 First Down Offense into Battle to Stay Perfect in SIAC

Jamir Dismukes, Fabian Duncan and ‘Da Vision’ lead the charge as Allen University prepares to test its nationally ranked offense against a tough Albany State squad.

Gameday Preview: Football | 9/27/2025 | By Phil Jackson, Allen University Sports Information Director

Albany, GA — This Saturday afternoon, Allen University's Yellow Jackets take their 2-0 SIAC conference record on the road to face a battle-tested Albany State squad (2-1 overall, 1-0 SIAC). What awaits is more than just a game — it's a statement opportunity that could send shock waves across the conference and the national landscape.

Allen has stormed into this moment riding surging momentum, anchored by two of the most dynamic playmakers in HBCU Division II football: Junior quarterback Jamir Dismukes and sophomore running back Fabian Duncan.

Dismukes: Precision, Poise, and Production

Jamir Dismukes continues to solidify his place among the nation's elite signal-callers. Earlier this season, he cracked the Top 3 on the Quarter Phi Back HBCU QB Watchlist — the only SIAC quarterback to do so.

While the Allen site shows no public 2025 stat line yet, team cumulative statistics reveal Allen's offensive machine is humming: the Yellow Jackets lead NCAA Division II in first-down offense, edging out programs like Western New Mexico University.  Dismukes has continuously made smart reads and big plays, especially in crucial moments, keeping the chains moving and defenses off balance.

Duncan: Breaking More Than Records

Fabian Duncan entered the conversation early this season with record-breaking performances. Two weeks ago, he shattered Allen's single-game marks with 26 carries for 198 yards and two touchdowns.  Then, in the 49-38 victory over Clark Atlanta, he bested even those numbers, carrying the ball 46 times for 241 yards and 3 touchdowns to earn SIAC Offensive Player of the Week honors.  He now ranks as #1 in all of HBCU DII rushing, as well as being regarded among the top rushers in NCAA DII.

His brutal consistency—wearing down defenses play after play—makes him not just a weapon but a narrative unto himself.

Defense: A Rising Backbone

On the defensive side of the ball, Allen has shown flashes of dominance.

  • Against Clark Atlanta, the defense recorded 68 total tackles, 6 sacks, and 13 passes broken up.
  • Across the season, the Jackets have pressured the quarterback and held opponents to just 496 rushing yards total in four games.
  • The front seven, led by the likes of Jhyheem Pittman and Amarie Fleming, while DeJuan Hughes and Tryeshon Freeman has begun to assert their presence.

If Allen's defense can keep imposing itself, it might be the deciding difference in tight moments.

"Da Vision" & The Unseen Backbone

Behind every beastly run and every protected pocket is a wall of men. The offensive line — known as "Da Vision" — has cleared paths, held firm under pressure, and made space for both Dismukes and Duncan to shine. Duncan himself has repeatedly given credit to his line, to his quarterback, and to the coaching staff for putting him in those moments where legends are born.

Stakes, Sound, and Signal

This is more than just a conference tilt — it's a chance for Allen to affirm itself in SIAC contention and demand respect nationwide.

  • A win would give Allen 3-0 in conference, distancing them from early season stumbles.
  • It offers proof that Duncan's gas tank is limitless and Dismukes' arm is precise under duress.
  • It sends the message that this program is no longer rebuilding — it's contending.
