COLUMBIA, SC — Allen University sophomore Jamea Lindley etched her name into the record books at the 2025 Tiger XC 5K Classic, hosted by Benedict College. The Decatur, Georgia native delivered a historic performance, crossing the finish line with a time of 22:37.87 — the fastest in Allen University women's cross country history.

Lindley, a transfer from LeMoyne-Owen College, has quickly made her mark on the Yellow Jackets program. Head Coach Orinthal Striggles spoke highly of her impact:

"Jamea is one of the most consistent athletes we have, and we believe she's a cornerstone of what we're building. This is a well-deserved honor that reflects her hard work and daily commitment."

In a meet filled with fierce competition and familiar conference foes, Lindley stood tall, pushing the pace and elevating Allen's presence in the SIAC distance running scene. Her breakthrough finish not only set a new school standard but also signals the upward trajectory of a growing women's program under Coach Striggles' leadership.

As the cross country season winds down, Lindley's athletic journey is far from over. According to Coach Striggles, she's expected to carry her momentum onto the track and field stage this spring — where he believes she'll be just as dangerous.

"She's only getting started," Striggles added. "Her ceiling is sky-high."
