Box Score COLUMBIA, S.C. - The Allen University men's basketball team opened their 2023-24 home schedule Saturday with a 90-35 victory over visiting Blue Lights College, an USCAA foe out of Apex, NC.

Junior guard Austin James led Allen with 14 points while fellow guards Mike Best and Malik Lacewell each tallied 12 points apiece. Sophomore forward Bubba Johnson, Jr. led the Jackets with six rebounds while Best added five. 

Point guard G'Shan Aldridge then led Allen with 5 assists and had 5 points while junior guard Julian Smith led with six steals and 4 points.
Junor Guard Talton Jones also had a good day finishing in double figures with 10 points while forwards Jordan Edmond and Tyriq McAdoo combined for 17 points and 5 rebounds while Edmond added 2 steals and a block.

Allen got out to a fast start leading 15-1 early on and then 46-19 at the halftime break. AU shot 52 % from the floor overall in the game and 42 percent from three. Allen then outscored Blue Lights 44-16 in the second half holding BLC to just 23 percent from the floor and 15 percent from three. 

Allen improves to 1-2 on the season and will next turn around and host NAIA foe, Morris College on Monday at 7:30 pm from Adams Gym.
