WEEK 3: SIAC VOLLEYBALL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
ATLANTA, Ga. (September 20, 2022) – Kayla Chambliss (Allen) was named Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Volleyball
Setter of the Week, while
Jayla Neely (Allen) earned
Defensive Player of the Week honors, released by the league office on Tuesday. This is the second straight week that Neely was named DPOW.

Maliyah Spencer was also nominated for
Newcomer of the Week and
Offensive Player of the Week.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Jayla Neely, Allen
Libero/Defensive Specialist | Freshman |Rock Hill, S.C.
Neely led the Jackets on the defensive end tallying 38 digs in three matches played averaging almost 13 digs per match. She also added six aces and a kill.
SETTER OF THE WEEK – Kayla Chambliss, Allen
Setter | Junior | Tallahassee, FL
Chambliss,
pictured below, led the Jackets at setter as she totaled 77 assists on the week along with 17 kills and 11 aces to lead Allen to a 3-1 record last week with wins over Livingstone, Morris, and LeMoyne-Owen.
The duo will next lead the 7-2 Yellow Jackets into a non-conference battle with the Flying Fleet of Erskine College tonight at 6 PM.
