WEEK 5: VOLLEYBALL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

ATLANTA, Ga. (October 4, 2022) – Allen University freshman outside hitter, Maliyah Spencer, was named Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Volleyball Newcomer of the Week, the league office announced on Tuesday. This is the second consecutive week that Spencer has won the award.

The freshman outside hitter led Allen with a season high of 19 kills (.385), seven digs, and two blocks in the close four-set loss to Benedict College last Wednesday.

She has still helped the Yellow Jackets get off to their best start in school history already leading them to 9 wins and a 6-game win streak earlier in the season.
She will next lead Allen to a two-match SIAC road trip on Friday and Saturday to battle Savannah St. and Clark Atlanta.
