COLUMBIA,
S.C. - The Allen University women's soccer team ended their loss to Bluefield St. Univ. (WV) with an impressive goal from sophomore striker
Sha'keryah Passmore.
However, the Yellow Jackets would fall 12-1 at home to BSU as they played two women down the entire game due to injuries and illness.
Bluefield scored two early goals before Allen held them scoreless for 15 minutes until BSU added two more goals before the half to lead 4-0. The Big Blue then scored 4 goals within a six-minute span to start the second half to extend their lead to eight. After two more Bluefield goals, Allen would then hold them scoreless for another 15 minutes until BSU scored their final two goals around the 78th minute.
Passmore then ricocheted her goal off the post and into the net in the 89th minute of action to surprise BSU, who had miscalculated the speed of the striker Passmore. Freshman goalkeeper
Jaden Keys then had another decent day in goal making 17 saves on 29 shots on goal while Passmore led with four shots. She now has
two goals on the season.
Allen falls to 0-15 on the season with the loss while BSU improves to 6-6. AU will finish out their season with a home senior day game on
Wednesday against USC-Beaufort at 2 PM to honor senior midfielder and captain
Rene Brown.Â
