COLUMBIA,
S.C. - The Allen University women's soccer team closed out their 2022 season on Wednesday afternoon dropping their final match 8-0 to USC-Beaufort, but not before honoring their lone
senior, midfielder Rene Brown in a halftime ceremony.
Allen played well over the first 20 minutes keeping the game scoreless until USCB knocked a tricky shot in off the post before following that up with a penalty kick goal in the 23rd minute of action to lead 2-0.
Beaufort would then add only one more goal the rest of the first half to lead 3-0 at the break with only an 8-2 edge in shots.
The SandSharks then added their fourth goal in the 56th minute and then added two more within the next 10 minutes to put the game out of reach.Â
Freshman
goalkeeper Jaden Keys again made 9 saves on 17 shots on goal to lead the Jackets while freshman
midfielder Mia Hughey just missed on a goal late in the first half. Junior striker
Sha'keryah Passmore led Allen with 2 shots while Hughey and juniorÂ
forward Acacia Small added one shot on goal apiece. Keys finishes the year with 101 saves and a .584 save percentage while Passmore completed the year with two goals and Small with one goal.
Allen closes the campaign with a 0-16 record while USCB improves to 11-6-1. AU will return 10 of their 11 starters next season as they look to progress further in Division II.
