Men’s Basketball Set to Face Albany State

COLUMBIA, S.C. - Allen men's basketball will look to win back-to-back games for the first time this season when it hits the road to face Albany State Saturday at ASU West Arena in Albany, Ga.  

The Yellow Jackets have won two of their last three games after starting the season 0-8.

Allen earned a key victory over Lane Tuesday after falling to the Dragons by 27 earlier this season.

YELLOW JACKET QUICK HITS 

  • Allen is led offensively by Anthony Baker Jr., who averages 15.3 points per game.
  • Stanley Christian had a stellar debut as he tallied 21 points and seven rebounds against Lane.
  • Andre Baker had a standout performance against Lane as he logged 20 points while shooting 6-9 from three and 7-11 from the field. 
  • Darius Williams effectively orchestrated the Allen offense as he notched 10 points and nine assists against Lane.

LAST TIME OUT

  • Allen defeated Lane, 75-64, in its last contest. 
  • Allen was led by Baker and Reginald Reynolds in the first half as the sharp-shooting duo combined to shoot 5-7 from three and 6-9 from the field. Christian also had a stellar first half as he notched eight points and four rebounds. 
  • The Yellow Jackets led every second of the first half despite being out-rebounded 15-24.
  • Allen displayed excellent ball movement as the Yellow Jackets tallied 10 assists on 11 made baskets in the first half. For the game, Allen accumulated 24 assists on 27 made baskets.
  • The Yellow Jackets also had a strong performance defensively as they held the Dragons to 37.7% shooting from the field and 23.1% from three.

SCOUTING THE GOLDEN RAMS 

  • Albany State enters Tuesday's contest with a 4-11 record, including a 3-5 mark in conference play.
  • The Golden Rams are led by Malik Parker who averages 19.8 points per game. 
  • Albany State fell to Central State, 74-80, in their last game.
