MEMPHIS, Tenn. — After a previous matchup was postponed due to severe storm watch conditions earlier this month, the Allen University women's basketball team returned to LeMoyne-Owen College and brought a storm of their own — one named UNITY.
The Lady Yellow Jackets wasted no time setting the tone, opening the game with a commanding 27–14 first quarter and never looking back en route to a decisive 96–60 victory inside Bruce Hall/Johnson Gymnasium.
Allen's offensive execution was as sharp as it has been all season, shooting 52.8% from the field, 55.6% from three-point range (10-18), and an impressive 90.9% from the free-throw line (10-11). The balanced scoring attack proved nearly impossible to contain, with six players scoring in double figures or near double digits.
Anissa Tuitt led the charge with 15 points, knocking down three triples and setting the pace offensively. Morgan Smith added 15 points of her own along with 4 assist and 4 steals, while Peighton Jambor delivered an efficient 12-point performance. Macy Brackett contributed 11 points, and Eboni Clay chipped in 10, showcasing the depth that continues to separate this Allen squad.
The Lady Yellow Jackets also dominated in transition, pouring in 27 fast break points, forcing 19 turnovers, and converting those into 23 points off turnovers. Their defensive pressure and ability to turn stops into immediate offense created separation that LeMoyne-Owen could not recover from.
Inside the paint, Allen controlled the tempo with 40 points in the paint while maintaining a strong rebounding presence and sharing the basketball effectively, finishing with 25 assists on 38 made field goals — a testament to the team-first identity behind the "UNITY" mantra.
The bench added a massive 42 points, further highlighting the depth and unselfishness of a roster clicking at the right time of the season.
The Lady Yellow Jackets didn't just make up a postponed game — they made a statement. With unity fueling their rhythm on both ends of the floor, Allen continues to surge with confidence, cohesion, and championship-level balance as the postseason approaches.
The Lady Yellow Jackets are back in action tonight for their second make-up game versus Lane College in a doubleheader beginning at 5:30PM - with the men's team followed directly afterwards.
