Senior Night Surge: Allen Women Power Past Savannah State 84–71

Allen uses depth, defensive intensity, and fourth-quarter dominance to secure a statement Senior Night win over Savannah State.

COLUMBIA, S.C. — On a night dedicated to celebration, gratitude, and legacy, Allen University women's basketball delivered a performance worthy of the moment, defeating Savannah State 84–71 on Senior Night inside Adams Gymnasium. Fueled by balanced scoring, relentless defense, and dominant interior play, the Lady Yellow Jackets turned an emotional evening into a statement victory.

Allen set the tone early, jumping out to a 20–9 first-quarter lead behind efficient shooting and defensive pressure. Though Savannah State answered with a strong second quarter, Allen maintained composure and control, ultimately pulling away with a decisive 29-point fourth quarter to seal the win.

Peighton Jambor led the charge with a dominant double-double performance, pouring in 20 points and grabbing 9 rebounds, anchoring the offense while controlling the glass. The talented forward was complemented by a strong supporting cast that showcased Allen's depth and versatility.

Morgan Smith added 14 points on an efficient 5-of-9 shooting night, while Eboni Clay contributed 13 points, 3 steals, and key defensive stops that shifted momentum.Senior Guard Jasmine Norman chipped in 10 points and 3 steals, impacting both ends of the floor.

Allen's playmaking was equally impressive. Tanaja Kennedy orchestrated the offense dropping dime after dime finishing with a game-high 10 assists, keeping the ball moving and creating high-quality scoring opportunities. Senior Guard Jamicia Davis filled the stat sheet with 8 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 steals, highlighting the team's all-around effort.

The Lady Yellow Jackets' team dominance showed in the numbers:

  • 42 points in the paint
  • 44 points off turnovers
  • 52 bench points
  • 21 fast-break points

Defensively, Allen forced 25 turnovers and recorded 17 steals, turning defense into offense all night.

Savannah State was led by Jaliyah Harper's 19 points and 12 rebounds, while Ansley Hicks added 13 points, but Allen's depth and tempo ultimately proved too much to overcome.
