Fort Valley, GA - The Allen University women's basketball team stormed into 2026 with a resounding message, defeating Fort Valley State 89–39 on the road Saturday afternoon at the Health and Physical Education Complex in Georgia.
Now 8–4 overall and 7–3 in SIAC play, the Lady Yellow Jackets used a suffocating first quarter to set the tone—jumping out to a 12–2 lead and never allowing the Wildcats to find rhythm. By halftime, the lead had ballooned to 35–12, and the final buzzer cemented a 50-point victory, Allen's largest margin this season.
Junior standout Peighton Jambor led all scorers with 24 points and 8 rebounds, dominating the paint and finishing efficiently (9-for-16 FG). Fellow starter Morgan Smith added 15 points and 4 boards on an impressive 7-of-9 shooting clip.
Sophomore Eboni Clay contributed 11 points and 4 rebounds of her own, continuing her steady presence on both sides of the ball, while Amaris Ridgeway brought energy off the bench with 9 points, and Destini Goodine chipped in 7.
The defensive intensity was just as impressive—Allen forced 20 turnovers, held Fort Valley to 39 total points, and won the battle on the boards with a commanding 50–22 rebounding edge, including 19 offensive rebounds that led to numerous second-chance opportunities.
Kyla Thomas was a force inside with 8 rebounds and 6 points, and ten total players entered the scoring column in a balanced offensive attack.
Under the leadership of Head Coach Olivia Gaines, the Lady Yellow Jackets continue to evolve with each game, showing both depth and chemistry heading into 2026.
The Lady Yellow Jackets travel to Clark-Atlanta University next to face the Lady Panthers with tip-off set for Monday, January 5, 2026 at 6:00PM in Atlanta, GA.
