Columbia, SC — The SIAC announced its weekly football honors this afternoon, and sitting atop the list is none other than Allen University's junior quarterback, Jamir Dismukes, who was named SIAC Offensive Player of the Week after a clinical and commanding performance.
Dismukes led the Yellow Jackets to their first win of the season and more importantly, a 1-0 start in SIAC conference play, positioning Allen among the early contenders in the hunt for a conference title.
His stat line was nothing short of remarkable:
28-of-33 passes completed (an eye-popping 84% completion rate) for 257 yards, paired with 13 rushes for 52 yards and 1 touchdown.
From sharp reads to critical third-down conversions, Dismukes was locked in — setting the tone early and never flinching in the face of pressure.
"I'm just thankful for the opportunity and proud of how we fought together as a team," said Dismukes. "Individual awards are great, but it's about the guys up front (Da Vision), the receivers making plays, our defense putting us in position to win — and the preparation our coaching staff puts in every week. The way we break down film and game plan gives me the confidence to go out there and execute. I just want to keep getting better each week and do my part to help us chase that championship."
Head Coach Cedric Pearl also praised his quarterback's latest honor - "This is a great honor for Jamir," said Coach Pearl. He played a great game, and it's the result of preparation, hard work, attention to detail, and the belief he has in this team."
The junior signal-caller has been a steadying presence through the early part of the season and now finds himself leading one of the most balanced, motivated, and dangerous teams in the SIAC.
His dual-threat ability, leadership in the huddle, and rising confidence make him a weekly threat — and this latest honor is another sign that the rest of the conference is starting to take notice.
