ATLANTA, G.A. — The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference recognized 908 student-athletes for their academic excellence Wednesday, including 67 student-athletes from Allen University.
The SIAC Commissioner's All-Academic Team features student-athletes who earned a 3.4 or better cumulative grade point average for the past academic year. Allen saw representatives from all eleven of its SIAC affiliated teams, including men's basketball (8), women's basketball (6), men's cross country (1), women's cross country (3), football (15), softball (9), men's indoor track and field (4), women's indoor track and field (7), men's outdoor track and field (3), women's indoor track and field (7), and women's volleyball (4).
Additionally, student-athletes who held the highest cumulative grade point averages within their respective sports are also named to the SIAC All-Academic Team. Ten Yellow Jackets were recognized for their academic achievements. The honorees included Talayah Boxley (Women's Basketball), Semaj Brown (Men's Basketball), Amoni Byrd (Women's Basketball), Trevor Bywater (Football), JuJu Harrington (Women's Basketball), Sarah Henry (Softball), Hunter Johnson (Men's Basketball), Siata Ouattara (Women's Indoor Track and Field), Demetri Patterson (Men's Basketball), and Jada Sanders (Softball).
