HOOVER, A.L. --- The Allen University softball team closed out the final day of the SIAC Crossover in Hoover, Alabama with matchups against Spring Hill and Tuskegee. To begin the third day of the event, Allen fell to SHC, 13-1, in five innings. Later in the afternoon, Allen was defeated by Tuskegee, 8-2. 

GAMES ONE VS SPRING HILL: 
Allen scored their only run of the contest in the third inning as Elissa Rich doubled down the right field line to score Zoe Thompson. It marked the second double and seventh RBI of the season for Rich. 

GAME TWO VS TUSKEGEE: 
The Yellow Jackets manufactured a pair of runs without recording a hit through the first two innings against the Golden Tigers. In the first, Ta'Keviya Sims reached and advanced to third base on an error by the Tuskegee third baseman. In the next at-bat, Tylar Crawford brought home Sims on an RBI groundout. Then in the second inning, Tania Shoulders led off the frame with a walk and worked her way to third on a passed ball and a groundout. Freshman Sarah Henry drove in Allen's second run with an RBI groundout to score Shoulders. 

In addition to their RBIs, both Crawford and Henry recorded hits in Thursday's effort. From the circle, Rich struck out eight Tuskegee batters over seven innings of work. 

UP NEXT: 
Allen returns home for a three-game SIAC series against Clark Atlanta beginning Friday, March 21 at 5:00 p.m. A doubleheader will conclude the series on Saturday, March 22 with first pitch scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
