ATLANTA, G.A. --- In their first road game of 2025, the Allen University men's basketball team was defeated at Clark Atlanta Wednesday evening, 72-54.
Jeremiah Francis jumped out to a fast start against the Panthers as the senior guard scored the Yellow Jacket's first seven points of the game, to tie CAU 7-7 at the first media timeout. But from there, the defending SIAC Champions began to build a lead over the next 16 minutes to take a 40-32 advantage into halftime. Allen managed to bring themselves back within six points of Clark Atlanta's lead, 52-46, with 10:56 to play as
Hunter Johnson connected on a layup. However, similar to the first half, CAU found their offensive rhythm over the final 10 minutes as Allen was outscored 20-8 to end the game.Â
Francis finished the night by matching his career-high with 12 points on 4-of-6 shooting. Johnson joined Francis in double-figures with 11 points in 22 minutes of action.
Jordan Edmond grabbed a team-best eight rebounds in Wednesday's effort, followed by
Ethan Hill who had six rebounds, including five off the offensive glass.Â
Allen remains in Atlanta, Georgia overnight as the Yellow Jackets will take on Morehouse College tomorrow, Thursday, February 6. The SIAC contest is scheduled to tip-off at 7:00 p.m. inside Forbes Arena.Â
