BLUFFTON, S.C. --- The Allen University softball team suffered their first road loss of the 2025 season Saturday against Shorter University, 15-2 in five innings. The game was played on the campus of the University of South Carolina Beafort as part of the five-team USCB Invitational.
The Yellow Jackets scored both of their runs in the fourth inning after
Destiny Breton and
Alaina Harvey each singled to begin the frame. After each advancing into scoring position on a passed ball, Breton scored on an RBI groundout from
Sarah Henry. Three at-bats later, and Harvey stole home to plate Allen's second run of the game.
Harvey recorded a multi-hit game in the loss, finishing 2-for-2. The sophomore utility player also struck out two Shorter batters from the circle.
