It's Wrestling Matchday at Allen University as Head Coach Eric Pack leads the Yellow Jackets into their home opener showdown against powerhouse Newberry College tonight at 6PM. The stage is set inside John Hurst Adams Gymnasium for a hard-hitting, high-energy clash as Allen steps onto the mat with confidence, intensity, and something to prove.

What started as a hungry group of athletes has turned into a team that's riding the wave of momentum with back-to-back wins against Bluefield State University (25-24) and Emory & Henry College (43-13). With each match, the Yellow Jackets have been building chemistry, conditioning, and an identity that's rooted in grit, toughness, and execution.

"We're not just wrestling to compete — we're wrestling to represent Allen University with pride, and show people what this program is about," said Coach Pack. "This is a statement opportunity on our home floor."

The Yellow Jackets are led by Junior standout Jerrell Baskin, one of three AU wrestlers named to the 2025 Conference Carolinas Preseason Watchlist. Baskin's explosiveness, mat awareness, and leadership has anchored this young and hungry team. Also earning preseason honors are Sophomore Dharrin Smith and Senior Quincy Baskin, whose veteran presence and resilience have been critical in helping Allen develop into a dangerous team capable of turning heads in the region.

With a growing fanbase, intense sideline coaching, and a team of warriors ready to take the mat, tonight's matchup is more than just a dual meet — it's a culture check.
