ATLANTA, GA — Allen University Volleyball spoiled Alumni Night at Epps Gymnasium as the Lady Yellow Jackets roared back from an early deficit to defeat Clark Atlanta University 3–1 (21–25, 25–23, 25–14, 26–24) in a crucial SIAC matchup.
After dropping the opening set, Allen responded with relentless energy, surging past the Panthers with three straight set wins. The victory moves Allen to 12–9 overall and 7–6 in conference play, inching closer to postseason positioning, while Clark Atlanta continues to struggle at 1–19 (1–10 SIAC). Junior Setter Naveah Baker led the defense with with 12 digs, 1 kill, 3 assists. On the offensive side Zyara Harrision led the Yellow Jackets with 13 assists, 3 kills, 5 aces, 3 digs
Game-Changing Performances
- Amaya Bernardo was a force at the net and from the service line, finishing with a match-high 13 points on 12 kills (.375 hitting), 2 service aces, and 10 receptions with a perfect 1.000 passing percentage.
- Zimora Owens added power from the outside with 6 kills on just 1 error 2 attempts hitting % .-500, and 17 digs in a strong all-around effort.
- Maliyah Spencer posted 9 kills and 2 blocks while also serving with a .250 efficiency.
- Alivia Pettit directed the offense with precision dishing out 10 assist, 23 total assists, 1 ace and 2 digs of her own.
- Tamia Horton chipped in 2 kills, 1 ace, 3 assist, 4 digs, adding balance.
- Saige Bradley controlled the net with a game-high 5 blocks — more than the entire Clark Atlanta team combined (4).
As a unit, Allen out-hit Clark Atlanta with a team percentage of .228 compared to the Panthers' lower clip across the final three sets. The Yellow Jackets also logged 8.0 total team blocks and showed strong defensive resilience with 61 total digs to hold CAU's attacks in check.
Momentum Shift
After a slow first set that saw the Panthers jump out early, the Lady Jackets responded with edge and poise. In Set 2, a late rally secured a tight 25–23 win. From there, Allen completely controlled the third set, cruising to a 25–14 victory behind dominant play at the net and crisp passing.
Set 4 tested Allen's composure, but the Jackets held off a Clark Atlanta push to close out the match 26–24, silencing the gym and sealing a key road win.
