NEWBERRY, S.C. --- Despite a valiant effort, the Allen University men's wrestling team was defeated in two duals on Wednesday night, falling to Belmont Abbey 45-6 and Newberry 51-3. The match against Belmont Abbey was previously scheduled for January 22, but was postponed due to inclement weather. Both duals were held on the campus of Newberry College. 

In the first dual of the night versus Belmont Abbey, Sekou Bangoura earned his fourth victory of the season with a pinfall victory in 3:49 at the 197-weight class. All four of Bangoura's wins have been against Conference Carolinas opponents. 

Later against Newberry, senior Drevon Wallace earned a 6-3 decision win in the 149-weight class against Newberry's Caelan Alderman. 

The Yellow Jackets next dual match will be on February 8 at Limestone. The match in Gaffney, South Carolina will begin at 6:00 p.m.
