COLUMBIA, S.C. --- In their third road match of the season, Allen University traveled across Taylor Street to take on Benedict College Friday night. The Yellow Jackets (4-5) fell in four sets (23-25, 26-24, 18-25, 15-25).
Allen was led by senior outside hitter Dazzalon Larkins, who reached double-digit kills for the fourth time this season, with 11 kills to pair with two blocks. Maliyah Spencer and Sydney Ross added eight and six kills each, respectively, meanwhile Taylor Lawrence and Dacia Lowery each recorded five in Friday's effort. The setting duo of Sa'Nyah Daly and Zyara Harrison combined for 30 assists against the Tigers as Daly totaled 18 - just two shy of matching her season-high. Defensively, both Myra Lopez (14) and Janae Greene (13) reached double-figures in digs.
The Yellow Jackets return to John Hurst Adams Gymnasium for a Friday night match against Fort Valley State on October 4. First serve is set for 6:00 p.m.
