COLUMBIA, S.C. — Jasher Cox has announced his decision to step down as Allen University's Director of Athletics, effective August 10, 2024.
"I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to President McNealey, our student-athletes, dedicated coaches, faculty, and staff for the honor of leading them as their athletic director," Cox said. "The President's cabinet and everyone involved have been exceptional partners and teammates."
Since arriving at Allen in September 2021, Cox has led the University and it's athletic department's effort in transitioning from NAIA membership to recently achieving NCAA Division II full member status earlier this month. During his tenure, Allen University Athletics made great strides and achievements, including the creation of the nation's second HBCU women's wrestling team, the purchase and installation of a state-of-the-art video board inside John Hurst Adams Gymnasium, the installation of a turfed practice facility, the addition of an all-new digital ticketing system, the founding of a professional development series for student-athletes and coaches, win total improvements among all 12 of Allen's varsity sports, and the graduation of hundreds of student-athletes.
Cox will be pursuing another professional opportunity.
Allen University will conduct a nationwide search for its new Director of Athletics.
