Harvey's Homer Not Enough in Series Finale at Benedict

COLUMBIA, S.C. --- Although the Yellow Jackets took an early lead, it would not be enough in Sunday's SIAC series finale as Allen was defeated by Benedict, 7-2. 

With Destiny Breton on-base, Alaina Harvey hammered a two-run home run to center field to give Allen the lead, 2-0. This marked the second straight day with a homer for Harvey, and her sixth overall this season. 

In the circle, Elissa Rich struck out six Benedict batters across six innings, while holding the Tigers to just four hits and two earned runs.

Allen will begin a five-game stretch in the Sunshine State as the Yellow Jackets travel to Florida beginning Wednesday, March 20 with a doubleheader at Flagler College. First pitch in game one is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
