JACKSONVILLE, F.L. --- A 10-point first quarter deficit would prove to be too strong for Allen women's basketball Saturday, as the Yellow Jackets fell 67-57 on the road at Edward Waters.
After trailing 23-13 at the end of the first quarter, and seeing the Tigers' lead grow to as much as 20 points in the first half, the Yellow Jackets responded well throughout in the second half as they manage to outscore Edward Waters by five over the final two quarters, including by a 19-11 margin in the fourth quarter.
Taliah Wesley tied her Allen career-high with 17 points in Saturday's effort as she made six of 10 shots from the floor and went a perfect 5-for-5 from the free-throw line. Wesley would not be the only Yellow Jacket in double-figures against Edward Waters as
Kash Hankerson added 10 points to Allen's production. For the fourth time this season, and second-straight contest, freshman center
Zion Duncan pulled down double-digit rebounds as she tallied 11 versus the Tigers.
Allen remains on the road with a meeting at Savannah State scheduled for Monday, Feb. 5 at 5:30 p.m.
