AUGUSTA, G.A. --- Allen women's basketball wrapped up their regular season Tuesday with a non-conference win, 68-54, at Paine College.
Following a back-and-forth first quarter, freshman
Zion Duncan gave the Yellow Jackets their first lead of the game, 17-15, with nine minutes left in the second quarter on a pair of free throws. Then, with less than one minute to go before the break, Allen pushed their lead to nine points, 33-24, on layups from
Tati Morris and
Victoria Zidor. At halftime, Allen led 33-28. Over the final two quarters, Allen extended their lead in each, outscoring Paine 16-10 in the third and 19-16 in the fourth.
It was a complete team-effort in Tuesday's win as every player scored for Allen, including four finishing in double-figures.
Kash Hankerson posted a team-high 17 points in the victory. Zidor finished with 13 points and both
Talayah Boxley and
Nari Coe had 10 points each.
Allen will be back in action Tuesday, March 5 in Savannah, GA at the SIAC Tournament presented by Cricket. The single elimination tournament sees the Yellow Jackets' face-off with Tuskegee in the first round with tip-off scheduled for 12:00 p.m.
