COLUMBIA, S.C. --- Allen softball fell in both games of Thursday's doubleheader at cross-town foe Columbia College, dropping game one, 11-1, and game two, 15-4. 

GAME 1: 
To lead-off the third inning, Ta'keyvia Sims reached on a single, then stole second base. Two batters later, with Sims at third base, Anjellet Corner managed to reach on an error by Columbia that also allowed Sims to score. Four different Yellow Jackets registered a hit in the effort including Sims, Jada Sanders, Zariyah Stripling, and Corner who doubled. In the circle, Alaina Harvey struck out a pair of Columbia batters. 

GAME 2: 
The Yellow Jackets' offense broke through in the fourth inning with a four-run frame. With the bases loaded, Zinygea Marizette singled to right field to score Allen's first run of the game. Later in the inning, Sims singled to center field and brought home Harvey and Jasmine Blaxton. Finally, after driving in a run to begin the inning, Marizette scored a run of her own on a wild pitch. 

UP NEXT: 
Allen begins SIAC play Sunday, Feb. 25 in a doubleheader against Savannah State with first pitch in game one scheduled for 11:00 a.m.
