BIRMINGHAM, A.L. --- Allen men's basketball fell in overtime Tuesday at Miles College, 72-64.
The Yellow Jackets could not have asked for a better start Tuesday night, jumping out to a 14-0 lead through the first five minutes of the game. The strong start continued for the next seven minutes as defensively Allen held Miles to just five points until the 8:09 mark in the first half, leading 25-5. Miles found an offensive rhythm leading into the half, yet Allen still led, 38-24. In the second half, the Golden Bears outscored the Yellow Jackets, 36-22 to force overtime. In the extra period, Allen was held to one made basket as Miles secured the victory.
Malik Lacewell finished with a team-best 11 points.
Austin James added nine points and three rebounds in Tuesday's effort. On the boards,
Tyriq McAdoo grabbed a season-best 15 rebounds.
